God is good!
Had an amazing day a few days ago….this song came up on the radio at exactly the time I needed it to come on.
“Do you wonder why you have to,
feel the things that hurt you,
if there’s a God who loves you,
where is He now?
Maybe, there are things you can’t seeand all those things are happening
to bring a better ending
some day, some how, you’ll see, you’ll see…”
how long have I
been in this storm
so overwhelmed by the ocean’s shapeless form
water’s getting harder to tread
with these waves crashing over my head
if I could just see you
everything will be alright
if I’d see you
the storminess will turn to light
and I will walk on water
and you will catch me if I fall
and I will get lost into your eyes
and everything will be alright
and everything will be alright
I know you didn’t
bring me out here to drown
so why am I 10 feet under and upside down
barely surviving has become my purpose
cause I’m so used to living underneath the surface
if I could just see you
everything will be alright
if I see you
the storminess will turn to light
and I will walk on water
and you will catch me if I fall
and I will get lost into your eyes
and everything will be alright
and I will walk on water
you will catch me if I fall
and I will get lost into your eyes
and everything will be alright
I know everything is alright
everything’s alright
I took this picture today as I was taking a solo hike in the hills behind the city where I live. The hike lasted for about an hour and a half, and I experienced an epiphany. As I hiked, I saw many trails going to different places with unseen destinations…..there was only one path that led back to the entrance. I felt that this was similar to life.
There are many paths for us to follow, each leading to a specific result. But there is only one path that leads us to our destination.
Have faith! God will take your hand and guide you along the correct path.
I am Third
There was a boy who was very popular among others his age. He was an excellent leader in his school groups. One of his friends visited him and saw a homemade plaque in his room with the words “I Am Third” on it. His friend asked him what it meant and he replied, “It is the motto I try to use in my life. It means “God is first, Others are second, and I am Third.’”
When I first heard this story, I was very skeptical at first. “Isn’t this story too idealistic? Is it truly possible to achieve this level of humility?”
As I continued to read and reread…. the story started to move me. Although it may seem idealistic, the underlying principle is so true. We need humility.
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference. Living one day at a time; Enjoying one moment at a time; Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace; Taking, as Jesus did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it; Trusting that He will make all things right if I surrender to Your will; That I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with You forever in the next. Amen. —Reinhold Niebuhr
